NEW Mexico Merriam Turkey Hunting

Grey Ghost Outdoors offers a spring and fall turkey hunt for New Mexico's Merriam Turkey. This area has a great population of turkey and one can expect to see dozens of birds. Spring hunts are April to mid May, while Fall hunts are September and November.

This is a great opportunity to harvest two turkeys on one hunt in the spring. These hunts take place over three days. Turkeys can be hunted with shotguns, bow and arrow, or crossbow and bolt. The price for this hunt (plus license) includes one turkey. If the first turkey is harvested before the three day hunt ends and the hunter wishes to hunt for an additional turkey, there is an additional fee required. This includes lunch's, full guide service and tax.

Resident and nonresident spring or fall Over-the-Counter Turkey Licenses are available online: www.wildlife.state.nm.us, by telephone: 1-888-248-6866 and at New Mexico Department of Game and Fish offices and license vendors. Hunters may purchase both spring and fall licenses.

Bag Limit for Spring Season

The bag limit is 2 bearded turkeys, except as restricted by permit or area. The beard and a patch of feathers surrounding the beard must remain on the bird until it is delivered to the place where it will be eaten or placed in final storage.

Bag Limit for Fall Season

The bag limit is any one turkey. If a hunter does not harvest a turkey during the September Bow-only Hunt, she/he may hunt again in November using legal sporting arms for turkey.

Give us a call if you have any questions about this or any other hunts!

Most hunts will be 1 x 1. If a hunter would like to bring a hunting companion or a non-hunting companion then a 2 x 1 is not a problem with an extra charge each day.

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to book a hunt.
